We had the good fortune of connecting with Bina Bendale and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I always wanted to start my own business because I gave birth to my son eight years ago and was later diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder with high medical needs. During that journey, I struggled a lot. I longed for the goal but lost many friends, was disconnected from family, and didn’t feel like I had all the support that I needed to reach my goal. so I’ve always wanted to be a coach to help struggling parents with special needs and also to help people understand that transformation is possible, healing yourself (with) from within and how to come out with it being a better person and staying humble. Last year, I was brought to my attention about the nurse coach collective and during a call they were talking to me about how this can be the foundation of what my thought has been over the past five years and it gave me the platform to wanting to start my own business and gave me the foundational support to start my own business. I also want to help people with work-life balance/harmony.
What should our readers know about your business?
I started my business in December of 2021, I began getting paid clients the right way in January 2022, and my business started to grow quickly. I knew I had the confidence and felt great that I was finally doing what I love. Re-connecting with people and making them feel heard, safe, and happy. In May, I signed a sizable corporate deal that made me one of the leading pioneers for Nurse Coaches to provide their services in the corporate world. It was not an easy process because I had to learn about the business world rather quickly. I didn’t think I would have advanced this far if I hadn’t had my vision five years ago. My passion is to help people; I want everyone to be happy. I leaned into my support system for guidance. I asked vital influencer’s in the Nurse Coaching world their opinion and gained their advice. Nurses Coaches were known in the healthcare world but not too much in the corporate world. To be one of the first nurse coaches to embark on this journey is a massive success. The biggest lesson I have learned today is to stay with like-minded people It does not necessarily have to be family; remember to celebrate your accomplishments and be around people who will celebrate with you, if not more.
What I want people to know about my brand and me is that I am genuinely authentic; what you see is what you get. From coming from a world of having a child with special needs and all the struggles that come with it, I understand that sometimes you have seen things in a different light. People will all learn differently about their uniqueness, which will take some people longer, which is okay too. I have learned to maintain patience, stay calm, and feel people’s energy.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week-long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in the Bay Area so if my best friend were to come visit there’s so much to do here I would start in San Francisco take them all to the local areas in the city enjoying the city enjoying the Golden Gate join the nightlife San Francisco has such a rich culture going to you know lake Merritt and Oakland they have so many different new restaurants so lively going for a walk it’s a beautiful walk around the lake also then going to Napa and I’m members of local vineyards here in Napa and taking them wine tasting and enjoying people’s company not necessarily with alcohol but just understanding the process understanding the taste the smell had to distinguish what grape it’s from and really valuing the finesse that comes in from winemaking The most funniest people is watching people on pier 39 or around San Francisco in general and just people watching and talking to them relating to them walking through Golden Gate Park there’s so many festivals that happen there it’s so worth coming here and I’m so blessed to be living in the Bay Area.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My most powerful support system is my husband, Sandeep Bendale, and children, Rohan, Reya, and Riyan. They keep me grounded and humble. It reminds me every day that miracles do happen.
